We are a 501(c) 3 organization whose mission is to help families in the greater Blowing Rock, North Carolina area that are in need with food, non-perishable items and clothing.

March 2013: I am excited to announce Blowing Rock CARES has moved the food pantry to Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church. We have expanded our space to better accomadate the residents of Blowing Rock and Watauga County. The hours will be Monday from 8-12 and Tuesday from 10-3. We picked those days to work with Faithbridge United Methodist Church, who has a food pantry on Wednesday and Thursday. We are in need of volunteers who can work once or even one day a month. Our partnership with Goodwill Industries in Boone is off to a great start!

For those of you not aware...because we were running out of space in the C.A.R.E.S. closet, we decided to partner with Goodwill. We donated all the clothing we had in exchange for Goodwill gift cards. Now our families in need will have a much larger selection of clothing, etc. to choose from. And we will have more room in the closet for non perishables.

You can continue to donate your clothing to C.A.R.E.S. here at school. We will, in turn, donate to Goodwill and receive credit. In addition, you can donate directly to Goodwill,...even the other household items like kitchen goods, lamps, furniture, toys, etc...... tell them it's for C.A.R.E.S. and we will still receive the credit. It's definitely a win-win situation.
